Trees and Ink is accepting books for review. Only books that are professionally polished, well-edited, and relevant to the content on the blog will be accepted. Additionally, I will only accept books that are in the following genres:
- Literary fiction
- Nonfiction
- Humor
- Memoir
- Grammatical or Literary Reference
Self-published books may be accepted if they are well-edited and polished. Should I receive a book that does not meet these standards, I reserve the right to refuse to review the book. Additionally, I reserve the right to post honest reviews, meaning that negative reviews may be posted. However, reviews will be targeted at the story, the writing, literary elements within the writing, and the writer’s command of his or her craft, NEVER at the writer on a personal level.
I also reserve the right to choose not to review a book if I am unable to finish it. This happens rarely, but sometimes connecting with a book just isn’t possible.
At this time I am only accepting hard copies of books.
A high level of professionalism is expected from all parties. Should an author, publisher, agent, or other representative act in an unprofessional manner, I reserve the right to discontinue working with said representative—regardless of if the review is completed or not.
Also, I cannot guarantee when reviews will be completed. Unless the review is part of a blog tour or other promotional event that requires a specific date, and I am made aware of that date and receive the book in ample time to meet the deadline, the review will be completed as soon as I can get to it but I cannot guarantee that it will be done quickly.
